This award winning program will soon be featured on the Discovery Channel and possibly the Food Network and/or your local PBS stations. My part is very interesting and very emotional for me. I wondered why I looked so different and why my face was so round. Then I remembered that my part of the video was shot the day before my cancer diagnosis. Everything in my life changed after that. Not only my health changed considerably, but my personal life was in turmoil for over a year. So, as I reflect on my comments about my family, I am reminded about how fast things can change. I want to personally thank Russell and his crew for producing a wonderful program with many legends of Central Texas Bar-B-Q.

It was an honor serving the Governor-for-a-Day Celebration and I sincerely thank Texas Senate Pro Tem Jane Nelson for her kind words regarding our food and service.

We have had a busy summer and now as we enter the fall we are preparing our fall menus for our area schools. We sent out over 600 of these flyers to area schools. We followed this mailing with another 450 to area businesses and government offices. We have had an outstanding response to this mailing. We already have 8 dates between now and the end of 2004 that are completely booked.

Mikeska's was proud to serve an "All-You-Can-Eat" Farm Raised Catfish Buffet for all the participants of the annual Governors Sailboat Regatta Race.

Beef and Chicken Fajita Buffets are becoming very popular. We marinate our Beef Skirts and Boneless Chicken Breast for 3 days to assure great flavor and then we flat grill the meat with peppers and onions.
